Double Olympic gold medalist, Jerry Tuwai featured strongly in the two scrimmage sessions against Japan at Albert Park in Suva today.
Tuwai was also among the try-scorers for Fiji.
He looked sharp and fit in attack and combined very well with the backs in creating chances through offloads, turnovers and steals from Japanese scrums and breakdowns.
The four matches (two today and two last Friday) against the Japanese allowed coach Osea Kolinisau to see his wider squad members in action and give them a chance to impress him and the coaching panel before the final selection for the upcoming Singapore 7s.
Another standout performer in the trial matches was playmaker Iowane Teba who showed good speed, great vision and kicked impressively.
