I wanted to win for MGM teachers, students: Boletakanakadavu

Blue ribbon queen Kesaia Boletakanakadavu has dedicated her Coca-Cola Games back to back gold medal win to the students and teachers of Mahatma Ghandhi Memorial High School.

Boletakanakadavu was bought to tears after defending her gold medal in her final year at the games at the Games in Suva today.

“This win is for all the students and teachers,” Boletakanakadavu said after the race.

“I wanted to win this race and I am emotional that I have been able to do my school proud.”

The Kadavu lass has challenged all future athletes that will represent the school to never give up and keep pushing themselves.

“We are all the same with all the other athletes, no one is different, I started from Kadavu and than to Adi Cakobau School before finishing off in MGM.

“We can win if we put our minds to it, but it comes with a lot of dedication hardwork and sacrifice.”

Boletakanakadavu ran a time of 12.44 seconds.

Meanwhile, Melania Ranadi of Adi Cakobau School took the silver medal with a time of 12.69 seconds and Chloe David of Suva Grammar School claimed bronze with a time of 12.87 seconds.
