The BLK Lavidi Brothers from Kadavu were crowned the champions of the 2024 Fiji Bitter Sevens Series at the 48th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament held last weekend.
Hailing from Lavidi Village, the team’s dedication to the sport was evident as they competed in every one of the 12 Fiji Bitter 7s Series Tournaments this season.
The team was awarded a $10,000 cash prize along with the Series Trophy by the major sponsor, Fiji Bitter.
The team had a strong start, winning the Cup at the Kadavu 7s, and then won the Bowl at the Malake 7s.
The side continued to perform well, finishing as runner-up at both the Mataso 7s and Yasawa 7s, and won the Cup again at the Savusavu 7s.
Throughout the series, they also finished as runner-up in the Lomaiviti 7s and Nahehevia 7s, and reached the semi-finals at the Nawaka 7s and Tabadamu 7s.
Although they were eliminated earlier than expected at the Marist 7s, their overall performance in the series was impressive.
