LTA seeks help in retrieving 55 taxi permits

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has issued a public call for assistance in the retrieval of 55 taxi permits obtained in the Western Division through improper means.

The Authority’s paramount goal is to swiftly retrieve and confiscate all number plates and taxi permits linked to the issuance of permits and number plates that were obtained through non-compliance of operating procedures in the Western Division.

LTA Acting Chief Executive Irimaia Rokosawa said they view this matter with utmost seriousness and has assured the public that the Authority would not tolerate any form of corruption or fraudulent activities within the organisation.

“Preliminary investigations are already underway to delve into the specifics of the alleged improper issuance of taxi permits. The Authority is intensifying efforts to identify and neutralise any additional individuals outside LTA who may have been involved in this collusion,” he said.

“We remain resolute in our commitment to protecting the integrity of our transport system and maintaining the safety and trust of the public.”

The Authority is urging the cooperation of all stakeholders and the public in reporting any sightings or knowledge of vehicles operating with any of the following taxi permits:
