Australia-based midfielder Vanisha Kumar has joined the Kulas camp at the Fiji Football Academy in Namosau, Ba for their International Friendlies against New Caledonia women in Suva this week.
Fiji FA women’s vice president Susan Wise confirmed to FijiLive that Kumar jetted in the country yesterday to boost the Kulas in the build-up towards the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands next month.
Wise has also confirmed that US-born Junior Kulas stylish midfielder Preeya Singh will not join the team due to school commitments.
Meanwhile, Fiji women’s lone female professional footballer Trina Davis is currently in New Zealand and is yet to join the team.
The current squad includes a mixture of players from the Fiji Under 16 and Under 19 teams that recently participated in the OFC age grade competitions such as Kasanita Tabua, Seruwaia Laulaba, Mereseini Waqali and Auhtum Underwood.
The team also includes experienced players with the likes of national assistant coach Naomi Waqanidrola and her sister Sekola Waqanidrola, Luisa Tamanitioakula from Ba, Assistant Labasa women’s coach Jotivini Tabua, Captain Sofi Diyalowai and Aliza Hussein.
The Kulas will play New Caledonia at 3pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva tomorrow.
