The weather office is calling on Fijians to exercise caution, secure their properties, and stay informed through official channels for any updates.
Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a flash flood warning for several regions in Fiji, cautioning residents about potential flash floods in flash flood-prone areas, small streams, and low-lying regions.
The areas under this immediate warning include Rakiraki, Yaqara, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, and Sigatoka, urging communities to stay vigilant and prepare for sudden water level rises.
Simultaneously, a severe thunderstorm warning has been declared.
This includes the Coral Coast, and the Southern, Northern, Eastern, and interior parts of Viti Levu, as well as Central Macuata and Cakaudrove Province.
The affected areas include: Momi, Mavua, Magodro, and extends to Noikoro, Nadrau, Komave, through to Nuku, Batiwai, and further including Namosi, Navuakece, Lutu, among others, reaching all the way to Labasa, Nadogo, Saqani, Vaturova, Natewa, Vuna, and Waiyevo.
