Nippy Chand stars in Suva’s Futsal win

Nippy attacker Nikil Chand  scored a rapid hat-trick within the first three minutes to secure a 7-0 victory for Suva over Tonga’s Veitongo FC in their opening match of the OFC Futsal Men’s Champions League.

Captain Rajneel Singh and Deepal Singh quickly added to the tally, securing a formidable lead by the 7th minute.

Despite a spirited defence and a chance to score by Veitongo’s Oliveti Vai, Suva continued their onslaught.

Just before the halftime whistle, Fiji’s national captain Filipe Baravilala scored, followed by an own goal from Veitongo, making the scoreline 7-0 in halftime.

The second half saw a more composed Veitongo FC due to halftime adjustments from Coach Manu Tualau.

They successfully fended off further attacks, keeping Suva FC scoreless in the second half.

However, the first-half damage was too extensive for any comeback hopes, ending the match in Suva’s favor.
