Tavua remains on song in Senior League

Tavua posted an impressive 5-0 win over Northland Tailevu in the Digicel Senior League yesterday to remain on top of the standing.

The Dr Diva coached side remains unbeaten this season and has not been tested much in the Viti Levu zone competition.

Goals from Penaia Nagatalevu and Joeli Navalawa gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at halftime.

A tactical change by Singh where he introduced three players in the second half, paid dividends as replacements Vinay Prakash, Petaia Qauqau Jnr and John Ali netted three further goals.

17-year-old Qauqau Jnr also becomes the top scorer in Senior Division with four goals.

Coach Singh said veteran Malakai Tiwa displayed a man of the match performance and guided the younger players well.

He said their campaign remains on track and players just need to remain focused and consistent in the upcoming matches.
