Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica has revealed that the taskforce set up to look into the dealings of Walesi may take some time.
This, as it sorts the technical assistance assessment from an external party.
Earlier this year, the Minister for Communications had announced that an investigation had begun into the excessive spending into Walesi.
Yesterday, after speaking to FijiLive, Kamikamica said they also had to sort external funding to assist the taskforce to get the assessments done, which is now available to them.
Kamikamica outlined that a report clarifying the concerns into the Walesi saga would be ready by mid 2024.
In Parliament, Kamikamica revealed that a total of $125.5 million was used to establish and roll out the satellite digital television platform, in 2015.
He said that the investigation would establish how the funds were spent, whether due process was followed in terms of a tender process, the selection of vendors and how procurement was made.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the report will be produced back to Parliament once the audit investigation is carried out.
