Fijians warned against fake insurance scheme

Fijians are being warned to be aware of a fake free medical insurance scheme that is being advertised and is being circulated on social media.

The Ministry of Health says this is an attempt to mislead Fijians.

In a statement, the Ministry said it does not offer free medical insurance for people over 50 years as stated in the incorrect social media postings.

It said any official social media posting will be disseminated on the Ministry of Health & Medical Services social media platform and website.

The links to the sites are https://www.facebook.com/MHMSFiji and www.health.gov.fj

The Ministry is working with the Department of Information and the Fiji Police Force CyberCrime Unit to ascertain the basis of these incorrect postings.
