Tennis Fiji receives $15k boost

Tennis Fiji today received a $15,000 boost for the Fiji Open 2023 and in the build-up towards the Pacific Open Junior Championship in July.

Tennis Fiji vice-president Yash Patel while receiving the cheque from main sponsor, Fiji Tattslotto in Suva said this year Fiji’s Open will be played across the Denarau Golf and Racket Club from 31st of May to 4th of June.

“The tournament attracts the best players from Fiji as well as the Pacific region including Australia and New Zealand.”

“It’s also an important event in the lead-up to the Pacific Open Junior Championship in July in Lautoka.”

He said the Fiji Open 2023 is a premier international tennis event held annually and both the men and women’s winner in the open category will each receive $500 and a $100 dinning voucher.

“This year’s event will feature 41 events across six different categories including open grade, A grade, social, veteran and juniors.”

“The Fiji Open will also be the tournament played by the Tennis national team before they head off to the Solomon Islands to compete in the Pacific Games.”
