There was no energy in the game: Rauluni

Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s Head coach Mosese Rauluni cited lack of energy as a key factor in the team’s 62-21 heavy defeat to the Waratahs at Churchill Park yesterday.

“I thought the girls left everything off the field and didn’t take anything on the field. There was no energy, Waratahs outplayed us in all aspects of the game, they were more committed to the game then we were,” said Rauluni.

“We started very slow and it took us a while to get into the game and when we started to get into the game, we would lose it again by a silly play or penalty, so we’re going to get better at that.”

Despite the tough loss, he remains hopeful for better performance in future games while recognizing the superior offense of the Waratahs and the need to enhance their own attacking strategies.

“It was not like our girls, we fought harder with the Reds, we got to look at our preparation, we got to look at the way we train. But I think, we were just playing with a better team than us, their offense was really good at attacking, that’s the thing that we did not have, so we just got to pick that up next week,” he concluded.
