Five arrested in Nakasi drug raid

A woman and four men were arrested yesterday in Nakasi following a joint raid by officers from the Police Dog Unit and Fiji Detector Dog Unit.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, (ACP) Livai Driu said the raid was a result of information gathered of alleged illegal activities taking place at the residence.

The team upon arrival at the residence executed a search warrant whereby K9 Ike was deployed and gave an initial indication of illicit drugs.

ACP Driu said the team searched a box and found several zip lock bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

A further search conducted inside the house led to the discovery of more plastics containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

All suspects were taken into custody at the Nakasi Police Station, and the seized substances sent for analysis.
