We are committed to serve: Tikoduadua

Minister for Home Affairs & Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua says they are committed to ensuring that they serve the Fijian people in the best way they can and they have had an eventful first days in office.

In his New Year’s message, Tikoduadua thanked the Permanent Secretary and his team for making the transition a seamless one for him so they could immediately get to work.

“Let me begin by recognising and thanking all members of our defence and security forces who will not be spending their holidays at home to answer the call of duty—to keep Fijian families safe. We are grateful to them for their sacrifice, courage, and devotion.”

“We recognise that the Climate Crisis poses an immediate threat to our way of life and, as my predecessor, Hon. Seruiratu noted in his address to the 19th International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) last year, “the Climate Crisis posed the biggest security threat in the Asia Pacific Region”.

“This New Year, the Ministry will be at the forefront of the efforts to secure our borders, rebuild confidence in our defence and security forces and create lasting policies for our future security.”

“We will also strengthen our strategic partnerships with our friends in the region so that we can all work together for the security and well-being of all our peoples.”

“I wish all of you a blessed 2023 and reiterate our commitment to a safe and secure Fiji for all,” he said.
