Focus on real issues, Chaudhry tells parties

The Fiji Labour Party is calling on all political parties to focus their campaigns on issues that matters to the Fijian people instead of attacking one another.

Party Leader and former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry said two major parties have yet to release their manifesto thus keeping the electorate in the dark about their policies on such issues as worker’s rights, fair wage and welfare payments and better health care.

Chaudhry said the younger people are anxious to know what the political parties propose to do to create jobs for them Our farmers are eager to have information  on the renewal of agricultural land leases and how they will be helped to market their produce for a fair price.”

“People who have lived in squatter settlements for generations want honest and clear answers to their resettlement on land with secure residential leases.”

“So let’s provide answers to these pressing issues through our manifestos instead of ridiculing one another,” he said.

Meanwhile, yesterday the National Federation Party launched its Vision Document, its financial commitment to country, when it makes the next Government.
