Chand wins Silver in first Games appearance

Young Tanisha Chand won her first medal in the sport of Taekwondo at the 17th Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands today.

Chand, who flew out of the country on Sunday, settled for silver in the 62kg final in Honiara.

This was the first time for Chand to compete at the regional level.

Meanwhile Team Fiji remains fifth but now has 17 Silver, 12 Gold and 13 bronze medals.
