Bag of meth washes up in the Yasawa’s: Police

The Assistant Commissioner of Police –Crime ACP Mesake Waqa says that a bag containing a white substance was found washed ashore in Yasawa yesterday.

ACP Waqa said Police are in the initial stage of the investigation, and a presumptive test was conducted and confirmed it to be methamphetamine.

In a statement, ACP Waqa is calling on villagers on the coastline of Yasawa, Malolo, and Mamanuca to be on the lookout, and report any suspicious finds to police through the National Command Center on 9905 296 or the Western Division Command Center on 9905 457.

Police investigations continue.
