Skipper Nagasau back in 7s fold

Veteran Fijiana 7s Captain Rusila Nagasau is back in the Fijiana 7s training camp for the HSBC Hamilton 7s to be played on the 21 and 22 of this month.

The 2021 Tokyo Olympics bronze-winning leader joined the Fijiana 7s training squad three weeks ago after Head Coach Saiasi Fuli rested her during the HSBC Dubai and Cape Town 7s last year in December.

The 35-year-old said she is happy to be back in training and is fighting hard to stay at her best fitness level.

“I was given rest time. It’s something I really appreciate.” Nagasau said.

“Now I have to work hard again like everybody in the team.”

“We have to fight for our position in the team and that is something I have been working really hard on.”

“Just three weeks to get my fitness back and try to gel in with the new girls in the team,” she said.

Fiji is drawn in Pool A with arch-rivals New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Great Britain.
