Explore further potential in tourism, Accountants urged

Minister for Tourism, Viliame Gavoka has called on members of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants to explore further potential in tourism by promoting sustainable development, encouraging innovation, and maintaining fiscal integrity and societal responsibility.

While speaking at the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants Annual Congress 2024 held at the Shangri la Resort, Gavoka shared that the platform is an area where FICA participants can forge a prosperous future for Fiji and help sculpt the nation’s economic framework while exploring additional benefits that can be driven from tourism.

“We must also recognize that, as stewards of fiscal responsibility, we have a vital role in supporting and advancing programs that foster long-term growth and prosperity.”

“We need to work on building up activities and help spread the benefits of tourism to the other regions in Fiji.”
