Ba women gear up for first ever CVC

Digicel Women’s Inter District Championship winners Ba have begun their preparation for the first-ever Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion against arch-rivals Labasa.

Head coach Naomi Cavasiga while sharing the team’s excitement to play at the CVC said they want to make a strong start to the 2023 football season.

“Indeed I feel women’s football is growing in the country. We’ve always wanted women to also have CVC and the Ba women’s team is very thankful to Fiji Football.”

“When we were told that CVC will happen this year and Ba is taking part, the girls got very excited because they’ve always wanted to play in this competition.”

“Every year they would watch the men’s CVC but this year, they will also be part of the competition and it’s a positive start for the season.”

“Our aim is to make a winning start because, after the IDC, the girls went onto the rest and recovery mode. Now they’ve returned to the training while we also have our three players rejoining the team and our President Sharlene has begun the training plan and schedules for the team.”

Ba will clash against Labasa in a one-legged CVC on 12 February at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
