Opposition Leader Voreqe Bainimarama has nominated lawyer and former Leader of HOPE Party Tupou Draunidalo to the Constitutional Offices Commission.
Bainimarama made the nomination during the Commission’s sitting in Suva this morning.
Draunidalo, a former Member of Parliament and ex President of the National Federation Party replaces Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who was earlier nominated and then withdrawn by Bainimarama.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka remains tight-lipped on his nominee to the Commission.
He had earlier nominated lawyers Jon Apted and Tanya Waqanika but Waqanika opted out to focus on party affairs with the Social Democratic Liberal Party.
The meeting is currently underway.
