CID issues border alert for Sayed-Khaiyum

A border alert has been issued by the Fiji Police Force, Criminal Investigations Department against the Opposition Member of Parliament, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

A leaked document that’s widely circulated on Social Media indicates that the former Attorney-General is a person of interest and is currently under investigation regarding a case of alleged inciting communal antagonism.

Police said that they are yet to deal with Sayed-Khaiyum who is also believed to be in Australia.

According to travel history, the former Attorney-General departed Fiji on 26 December 2022.

The letter goes on to say that the CID should be contacted upon the arrival of Sayed-Khaiyum.

FijiLive has sent queries again to the Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho on the matter.

Also, we are questioning how this sensitive information was leaked.
