Triple gold medalist Tuvusa named Best Athlete

Othniel Tuvusa of Marist Brothers High School was named the Best Overall Male Athlete at the 2024 Coca-Cola Fiji Finals on Saturday.

The 14-year-old from Ba secured gold medals in the Sub Junior Division’s 100 metres, 200 metres, and 4 x 100 metres relay.

He also won best sub-junior male athlete title.

“I did not really expect to win this award. The minute I heard my name, I looked up in the sky and thanked the Almighty,”

“I am really grateful for this opportunity,” Tuvusa said.

He extended heartfelt thanks to his family and friends for their support throughout the competition.

“Especially to my family, my brothers who cheered for me as I competed, I thank them for their time.”

Tuvusa also dedicated his award to his grandparents, with a special mention to his grandmother who watched proudly from the grandstands and his grandfather in the west.
