Das hungry to celebrate more with Roy

Bengaluru FC defender Prabir Das admits that he is hungry to celebrate more goals with Captain and Fijian wonder boy Roy Krishna in the Indian Super League.

Das hinted that Bengaluru is working very hard to improve their performance and achieve better results despite their 3-2 loss to Kerala Blasters FC yesterday.

Speaking about his bond with Krishna, Das explained how he wants him to get back his scoring touch again.

“As a player, all games pose a challenge. I’m focused on the game, it’s like a derby but the important thing is to bring back three points. We have to treat it as a normal match. But we are also doing well even though we haven’t gotten the results. We will try to get three points in that match and if not that then at least one point,” told Indian Super League news.

“We are trying to work that out. Roy will be happy to score goals. Right now we just need the three points for the team to win. Roy and I share a great bond so if he scores, I feel good. It feels great to celebrate with him, so will try to assist him as I want to celebrate with him again. We will try and do well for the team.”

“We are working to cut down on the errors. This year, the Hero ISL is very tight so it becomes difficult to recover if you give away cheap goals during matches. We are doing well defensively. Even though we are eighth in the table, we have conceded the second-fewest goals in the league this season. We will give it our all to get three points in the next match and take it from there.”

The former ATK Mohun Bagan star also spoke about settling to life at his new club, holding much experience having played in the Kolkata derby last season.

“I have played in Kolkata before and now I am here. It is hard but I know that I have to adjust to the new players and surroundings. I have settled here now. I didn’t start well and was dropped by the coach. But I worked hard in training to put pressure on Namgyal Bhutia who was playing in my position.”

“I know we’re not in a good position right now, but I am confident that if we get some wins on the board, the confidence will come back to the squad and we can make it to the top six. We want to avoid defeat as we lose confidence. We have been playing well and the opponents score when they get the first chance while we keep on missing easy chances. But this is football sometimes.”

“My preferred position is right wing-back. I played a lot there when I was in Kolkata. At Bengaluru FC too when the head coach decides to change the system, I play there. So wherever the head coach wants to play me, I will try to give my best.”
