Fiji Football Association is giving all districts four windows to hold Local League competition and if they don’t complete their club rounds, they will lose two points from the Digicel Premier and Senior League standing.
Fiji FA chief executive Mohammed Yusuf said it is now compulsory for all districts in the Premier and Senior divisions to conduct their local club competition.
“This is aimed at fostering the growth and competitiveness of football within different regions.”
“We made it mandatory for all clubs in our council meeting last month to conduct their local league competitions or face penalty.”
Yusuf said after every four rounds of the national league, there will be a break for the districts to continue their local league competitions.
“We are giving districts ample opportunities to organize and complete their club rounds.”
“The local league is compulsory, and each district must complete it, otherwise they will now lose points,” he added.
Meanwhile both the Digicel Premier and Senior League will recommence next weekend.
