The Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women conceded ten tries in a heavy 62-21 defeat to the Waratahs in Round 2 of Super W competition at Churchill Park in Lautoka today.
The game kicked off with the Waratahs showing their intent early, as Desiree Miller crossed the line in just the 2nd minute to start the scoring spree for the visitors.
Kaitlan Leaney followed with another try four minutes later, doubling the lead.
As the match progressed, the Drua found themselves under constant pressure, leading to a try by Maya Stewart in the 16th minute.
Adita Milinia offered a glimmer of hope for the Drua with a try in the 18th minute and hooker Vika Matarugu pushed the score to 14-24 by the 31st minute.
However, Waratahs continued their dominance with a try from Bridie O’Gorman.
Despite a try from Merewai Tubu in the 47th minute for the Drua, the Waratahs maintained control with consecutive tries from Georgina Friedrichs and Miller, widening the gap.
The final minutes saw the Waratahs cement their victory with a try from Miller, concluding the match at 21-62.
Throughout the game, the Drua struggled with mistakes and handling errors, allowing the Waratahs to capitalize and extend their lead.
