Fiji finishes 9th in Singapore 7s

The Fiji Airways Fiji Men’s team ended its campaign in the Singapore 7s in ninth place today after coming from 12 points down at halftime to beat Spain 21-12.

Second half tries from Kaminieli Rasaku, Viliame Naikausa and Iowane Teba made all the difference for the Fijians.

Coach Osea Kolinisau said they lacked mental toughness in all pool matches.

He said they failed to execute their game plan well against USA and Great Britain and put pressure on themselves in the all-important match against Ireland.

The 2016 Olympic gold medal winning captain side they will look at the lessons they learned in the weekend and work on improvements.
