Fiji finishes sixth in Pacific Games

Team Fiji finished sixth at the 17th Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands with 91 medals, the country’s lowest ranking to date.

Fiji managed to secure 21 gold, 30 silver and 40 bronze medals after two weeks of competition in Honiara.

In the 2019 edition of the Games in Samoa, Team Fiji was ranked fifth with 116 medals of which 35 was gold, 38 silver and 43 bronze.

This year, the journey of Team Fiji was marked by triumphant victories, resilient comebacks, and a plethora of unforgettable moments etched into the annals of sporting history.

Team Fiji has now turned their gaze to the horizon, where the Paris 2024 Olympic Games beckon them with the promise of new challenges and triumphs.

The 2025 Mini Games will be another chapter in the sporting odyssey.

Meanwhile, New Caledonia retained the Pacific Game title this year with 82 gold followed by Tahiti with 57 gold while Australia finished third with 50 gold, Samoa ranked fourth with 34 gold and PNG finished on fifth spot with 29 gold.
