Fiji thumps Canada, progresses to quarters

The Fiji 7s side has booked its place in the Cup quarterfinals of the Los Angeles 7s after thrashing Canada 40-0 in its second pool match this morning.

The Ben Gollings coached side was ruthless from the opening whistle and scored three tries in the first half through Joseva Talacolo, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Pilipo Bukayaro while Napolioni Bolaca successfully converted for a 21-0 halftime lead.

Filipe Sauturaga got a second half double while Terio Tamani added one and kicked two conversions to wrap up the impressive victory.

Fiji will meet France in its final pool match at 10.22am today.
