Rauqe and Tuva scoop 200m Gold

The Coca-Cola Games’ 200 metres Senior races concluded with Queen Victoria School’s Senirusi Rauqe and Natabua’s Frances Tuva winning gold medals in impressive fashion.

Tuva, rebounded from a setback in the 400m which costed her Gold.

In the Boys event, Suva Grammar’s Aisake Manna and Semesa Caginivalu claimed the silver and bronze respectively, while Sereima Rasovasova of Jasper Williams High School and Melania Ranadi of ACS secured silver and bronze in the girls race.

The Intermediate Boys’ 200m saw Setareki Saukilagi of Vunisea Secondary, who surged past favorites in the final meters to win gold.

Emosi Laqere of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School and Joseph Andrews of Ratu Kadavulevu School followed with silver and bronze.

In the Intermediate Girls, Lidia Waqarapoa of MGM took home the gold with a standout performance, while Imeri Nasali of Adi Cakobau and Calude David of SGS completed the podium.

The Junior Boys’ race was won by Jarryd Mario of Lautoka Central, with Vailato Qumutia of RKS and Haggai Sukanivalu of Marist Brothers earning silver and bronze medals.

In the Sub-Junior Boys’ category, Othniel Tuvusa of Marist continued his excellent form from the 100m to claim another gold. Luke Junior of MGM and Jacob Tamaninai of SGS took the subsequent places.

The Sub-Junior Girls faced delays and a restart but eventually saw Sesenieli Nasoke of SGS win gold after a dramatic race that included a fall from top contender Sera Nasilivata of MGM, who was on course for gold.

Mereadani Navele of ACS and Ivamere Lutumailagi of Natabua took silver and bronze respectively.
