After securing victory in the Oceania U20 Challenge, the Fiji U20 team is now setting their sights on the games it will play against teams in the Super Rugby U20 competition.
Competing as the Fijian Drua U20, the team is eager to show their skills on this larger stage with the tournament set to begin in Taupo, New Zealand this Saturday.
Coach Apisai Sailada expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, despite having to manage minor injuries.
“Our preparation for the Super Rugby U20 is on track. Aside from managing some injuries, we’re ready for the challenge ahead,”
“We’re focusing on our set pieces to match up against the well-structured play of Super Rugby teams,” he told Fiji Rugby Media.
With an eye on building momentum from their recent success, Sailada views the Super Rugby U20 as a critical stepping stone for the players, especially with the Junior World Cup in South Africa looming on the horizon.
The Fijian Drua U20 is set to face the Hurricanes U20 this Saturday at 2:05pm FJT at Owen Delany Park in Taupō.
