Fijiana finishes fourth in Singapore

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side finished its campaign in the Singapore 7s in fourth place after losing the bronze medal match 29-7 to France at the National Stadium tonight.

The French were more tactical and used their experience very well against the spirited Fijians who also put on a brave challenge.

Ian Jason put the French up in the first minute but Fijiana replied in style and Adi Vani Buleki’s try in the third minute leveled the scores.

Some ball handling skills and poor decisions by Fijiana allowed Seraphine Okemba to score just before halftime and give them a 12-7 lead.

Okemba, Carla Neisen and Lou Noel scored three more tries in the second spell to wrap up their win while Fijiana despite having some chances, failed to execute and convert them into points.

This was Fijiana’s best performance and finish this season.
