High Court to rule on Sharma’s termination

The High Court  in Suva will deliver its ruling in former Solicitor General Sharvada Sharma’s application for a judicial review against his termination at 3pm today.

Sharma was suspended and then unceremoniously terminated by the former President Jioji Konrote on the advice of the Judicial Services Commission, in 2021.

According to Section 112 and 116 of the 2013 Constitution, the Solicitor General can only be removed from office after a proper inquiry by an independent tribunal.
