Nabulagi wants to play for Japan in OIympics

Fiji-born Japan Sevens Development Squad (SDS) backline utility Eroni Nabulagi has set his sight on representing his newly adopted country in the 2024 Olympic Games.

The 18-year-old from Vitogo Village in Lautoka who is currently studying and playing on a scholarship in Japan wants to play international stage.

“The ultimate prize is to represent Japan at the next level,” Nabulagi said.

The former Queen Victoria School and Natabua High School student is a standout in the McDonald’s Coral Coast Sevens with his hard-running and offloads.

“It’s awesome to play sevens, and do so for Japan has been a blessing.”

“It’s even great to come back home after three years and play against some of the best sevens players in the country right now.”

“For me and my team, we are also trying to go back with as much learning as we can, and there is no better place to learn than back home in Fiji,” he added.
