Nadi man dies in early morning crash

A man died following a motor vehicle accident which occurred close to 3am this morning in Sabeto, Nadi.

According to Police, the victim was driving along a wooden bridge at the Waimalika Cane Access Road when he allegedly lost control causing it to veer off the bridge, and landed in a creek.

A 60-year old man from Sabeto who was a passenger managed to escape, however the victim was trapped inside.

A post mortem will be conducted to confirm the victim’s cause of death as investigations continue.

The road death toll currently stands at 44 compared to 25 for the same period last year.
