Peters gets redemption with Games gold

Suva Grammar School’s Francis Peters says it was redemption after getting gold in the Coca-Cola Games Intermediate Boys Shot Put at the HFC Bank Stadium today.

The soft spoken giant finished second in the Intermediate Boys Discus Throw event yesterday and it drove him to go one better.

“I was a bit frustrated, because I knew I could do better,” the 17-year-old from Naitasiri said.

“I just focused on the job today and gave it my all.

Peters who won the same event at last year’s Coca-Cola Games, said the competition was on another level this year.

“It is definitely bigger, some of the smaller schools are coming to compete, so we all have to be at our best.”

I am grateful for the win and I dedicate the win to the Almighty, my school and my family.”

Peters threw a distance of 14.32 metres
