52 residential lots for first-time homeowners have been made available by the Housing Authority in Tavakubu, Lautoka.

In a statement, the Housing Authority said this is an exceptional opportunity for individuals and families seeking to build their dream home in a prime location in Lautoka.

It said the available lots offer a diverse range of sizes ranging from approximately 229 to 599 square meters.

Situated just a 10-minute drive away from the bustling Lautoka city, these lots in Tavakubu offer the ideal blend of tranquility and accessibility to the hospital and prominent schools, revered places of worship, and entertainment places like restaurants, movie theaters, and the renowned Churchill Park Stadium.

To be eligible for a lot in Tavakubu, the applicant must be a first-time homeowner, a Fijian citizen with an annual household income of $50,000 or less, able to purchase the land and build a house, and be 18 years of age and older.

Housing Authority said there are 17 high-end residential lots on offer in Tavakubu to those earning above the $50,000 income category and these lots will be sold later via a separate EOI process.

For the existing 57 sitting tenants in Tavakubu, the Ministry of Housing and Housing Authority jointly had a consultation session with the sitting tenants and will use the HA Lot Allocation Policy for Sitting Tenants & Informal Settlers.

Applications for the 52 residential lots are due by Friday 24 May 2024.
