President briefed on Multi-Ethnic framework

His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has been briefed on the Multi-Ethnic framework, aimed at promoting social cohesion and embracing diversity to drive Fiji forward.

New Zealand based consultants, Dr. Rajend Prasad and Radhe Nand who formulated the framework, conducted the briefing following the launch of the document at the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs earlier on Friday.

Also in attendance was the Permanent Secretary of Sugar Industry and Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Yogesh Karan.

Key aspects of the framework involve initiatives to enhance social cohesion, celebrate cultural heritage, and ensure fair access to government services for all ethnic communities.

Dr. Prasad, a former Fijian citizen, brings extensive experience in social policy and services, having worked as a senior practitioner, researcher, and Associate Professor at Massey University.

Nand, also a former Fijian citizen now living in New Zealand, is a lawyer with expertise in corporate law, family trusts, family law, employment law, corporate transactions, and human rights.
