Redemption Gold for Nathaniel Chand

16-year-old Suva Grammar lad Nathaniel Chand won Gold in 100 meter’s Intermediate boy’s final with a time of 11 seconds after falling short at last year’s Coca-Cola Games.

He has competed in this event for three years, winning gold in 2022 but not achieving the same success in 2023.

“This year I was planning to make a comeback and I did,” he said proudly.

“I was inspired by my coach Jone Delai, my parents, and my fellow brothers back in school who have pushed me to achieve greater things.

Meanwhile, Emosi Laqere of Mahatma Gandhi High school won Silver and Francis Bakaniceva won Bronze.

Additionally, In the Intermediate girls division, Claude David of Suva Grammar School won Gold with a record of 12.27 seconds, Imeri Nasali of Adi Cakobau School won Silver and MGM’s Lidia Waqairapoa won Bronze.
