Fiji can meet digital economy demands

Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica says from seamless connectivity to state-of-the-art IT solutions; our infrastructure ensures that Fiji stands as a competitive outsourcing destination, capable of meeting the demands of digital economies.

While officially launching the “Exploring Outsourcing in Fiji- EXO Fiji” event in Suva, the Deputy Prime Minister said the event will be an enlightening and transformative experience as it delves into the world of outsourcing in Fiji.

“It is an opportunity to witness first-hand the opportunities and competitive advantages that Fiji offers as an outsourcing destination.”

“We have spared no effort in curating an itinerary that will not only inform and inspire but also provide networking opportunities with industry leaders and experts.”

He said in the wake of unprecedented global challenges, the country has proven its resilience and adaptability, bringing forth not just a skilled workforce but a community of individuals who are dedicated to creating meaningful partnerships that transcend geographical boundaries.

“The “EXO Fiji” event is not just about forging business connections, it is about fostering an environment where economic growth is synonymous with social progress and our skilled workforce is a testament to our commitment to innovation and our pool behind economic development.”

“In making a common course with the Sustainable Development Goal 8, we envision a future where our outsourcing endeavours contribute not only to economic prosperity but also to the well-being of our people.”

Kamikamica further highlighted that at this event, businesses will be able to witness Fiji’s efforts in technological advancement, by showcasing its robust ICT infrastructure which currently provides a solid foundation for businesses currently outsourcing to Fiji.

“From seamless connectivity to state-of-the-art IT solutions, our infrastructure ensures that Fiji stands as a competitive outsourcing destination, capable of meeting the demands of digital economies.”

“The Fiji Government has embarked to provide the necessary IT solutions and advancements such as our partnership with Google to establish a major subsea cable project to enhance digital connectivity between the Pacific and rest of the world that was announced last week.”

Kamikamica also extended his invitation to all international businesses from neighbouring countries such as Australia and New Zealand to register for “EXO Fiji” where the convergence of business, technology, and culture promises an experience like no other.

EXO Fiji will be held from the 19th to 22nd June at Sheraton Resort in 2024.
