Lunn breaks Fiji’s 24-yr record at Games

Australian athlete Jack Lunn has broken Fiji’s 24-year-old record in men’s 800 meter run on Tuesday at the 2023 Pacific Games that is currently underway in the Solomon Islands.

Lunn snatched gold, recording a remarkable time of 1:48.43 in the final event in Honiara yesterday.

The previous record of 1 minute, 49.54 seconds was set by Fiji’s Isireli Naikelekelevesi in the 1999 Mini Games in Guam and has now been surpassed by Lunn’s exceptional performance.

Jack Paine from New Zealand demonstrated his notable athletic competency, securing silver in 1:51.72 seconds while Fiji’s Vishant Reddy secured bronze, finishing in 1:51.80.
