A 27-year-old unemployed man of Lami will front the Magistrates Court in Suva today for assaulting a Police officer.
The suspect is alleged to have struck the officer twice with a cane knife on New Year’s Day and fled the scene.
He was apprehended three days later and has been charged with a count of serious assault.
