Fiji FA strengthens transfer rules

Fiji Football Association has implemented stringent transfer legislation following its council meeting in Lautoka on Sunday.

Fiji FA chief executive, Mohammed Yusuf said this legislation is in place to maintain financial fairness and player commitment within the sport.

“To ensure financial discipline, each district must adhere to the $200 weekly salary cap. Violations will incur a hefty fine of $10,000.”

Further tightening player movement, Yusuf explained, “Players transferring in one window are not allowed to switch teams again in the mid-season. They must remain with their chosen district for a full year.”

“These legislation is crucial to protect the interest of both the team and the player,” he added.
