Unfair decision based on allegations: Tabuya

Ousted People’s Alliance Party Deputy Leader and Women and Social Protection Minister, Lynda Tabuya has labeled the decision of the Party’s Executive Council as “”unfair as it is based solely on allegations generated by opponents from outside the party.”

Tabuya in a statement said she is disappointed with the two lawyers in the legal and disciplinary sub-committee who based their recommendations on allegations published on social media which she claims is aimed to weaken the Coalition and the Party.

She said by applying the Constitution of the Party, the Executive Council based its decision to remove her as Deputy Party Leader on allegations which they perceive as potentially causing damage has set a dangerous precedent.

Tabuya said she is no surprised as the very same people opposed her appointment to be Deputy Party Leader before the 2022 Election and they have now pounced on this opportunity to do  so.

The Minister went on to say that, “It’s most unfortunate that as a woman I continue to be targeted with my removal last year as leader of Government business and now as deputy party leader.”

She added the Party must stand for fairness and justice and applying the law equally based on evidence and facts, not allegations.
