ISL is growing faster than A-League, says Krishna

Fijian Captain Roy Krishna says the Indian Super League is growing faster than the A-League.

Speaking at a media conference in Australia ahead of their inter-zonal semi-final of the 2023-24 AFC Cup against the Central Coast Mariners, Krishna said: “When it comes to ISL, it has grown with time, especially because of the presence of foreign players and the emerging young talents.”

“The league is getting tougher day by day. And in terms of growth, ISL is growing faster than A-League.”

He said, “Being in India, it’s easy to watch most of the A-League matches as it starts at around 2 PM. At the moment, Central Coast Mariners and Wellington Phoenix are flying high in the league.

Odisha FC will face the Mariners in the first leg tonight at the Central Coast Stadium in Australia.

While Odisha FC secured the top position in their group stage fixtures last year, enabling them to progress to the semi-finals, the Central Coast Mariners achieved a notable victory by defeating Macarthur FC with a score of 3-2, which granted them the title of ASEAN Zone champions and secured their qualification for the subsequent round.
