FNU postpones first quarter exams

The Fiji National University (FNU) has deferred the Quarter 1 2024 exams due to adverse weather conditions which led to campus closure, impacting students in their preparation and classes last week.

FNU Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Jimaima Lako said the university is ensuring the students are well prepared for the exams, as many students’ preparation would have been affected by the closure of the campuses due to the adverse weather conditions.

“We want to ensure that our students prepare thoroughly for their exams. Hence, we decided to shift the exam to a week later. This would allow the students to prepare themselves and give their best in their exams,” Dr Lako said.

“This decision to defer exams underscores our commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. By providing all students with adequate time to prepare after the recent campus closures, we ensure equitable opportunities for success.”

She said FNU maintains a steadfast commitment to educational excellence through the development of work-ready graduates at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr Lako said the new dates for the Quarter 1, 2024 exams are 8 to 11 April, 2024.

“We wish our students the very best in their preparations, and for the exams, they will sit on them as this will determine the outcome of their hard work and dedication towards their studies.”

“Due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions, the university strongly encourages all students to prioritise their health and well-being. Also, take the necessary precautions to stay warm and dry. Remember, your health is paramount to your academic success.”
