Bese sidelined as Fijiana regroup for Vancouver

Former Sprinter and Fijiana winger Younis Bese is sidelined with minor injuries and will miss next weekend’s Vancouver 7s tournament.

However, with the inclusion of Laisani Likuiceva and Heleina Young, Fijiana 7s Head Coach Sairusi Fuli sees an opportunity to rotate and utilise the squad effectively.

The team is aiming to rebound from their performance in Perth and is focusing on securing maximum points in the next leg of the series.

“We need to regroup, work harder, and aim for maximum points in the upcoming tournaments,” said Fuli.

“We have a very strong squad and in terms of our team selection, we try to rotate our players.”

“The big one is the Olympics, we have to continue with a positive mindset that is why we are trying to utilize all our squad members and give them equal opportunities for selection and also to play in these series,” he said.
