Fiji claims first-ever Tennis gold in Honiara

Tennis Fiji created history in Honiara, Solomon Islands yesterday by claiming its first-ever gold medal at the Pacific Games.

Storm Cornish and William O’Connell won the historic gold in the men’s doubles after beating Tuvalu in two straight sets.

Fiji won the first set 7-5 and also claimed the second set 6-2.

Meanwhile the Women’s doubles team of Tarani Kamoe and Ruby Coffin settled for a bronze medal.
