Fiji to face NZ in HK 7s quarterfinals

Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team has clinched a spot in the Cup quarterfinals with a dramatic 14-7 win against France thanks to a last-minute try from former skipper Napolioni Bolaca.

The match began with Fiji taking the lead when Ponepati Loganimasi scored in the 6th minute, breaking the deadlock.

Filipe Sauturaga’s successful conversion brought the score to 7-0 by halftime.

However, the second half started with Fiji down a player as Loganimasi received a yellow card for a deliberate knock-on in the first minute.

France capitalized on the advantage, with Nelson Epee scoring in the 11th minute and Rayan Rebbadj converting to tie the game at 7-7.

The match was intense, with France applying continuous pressure on Fiji.

As the clock wound down, Napolioni Bolaca made a decisive breakthrough, scoring a try in the final moments of the game.

Waisea Nacuqu’s conversion sealed the victory for Fiji with a final score of 14-7.
