Fijiana falls short in LA 7s opener

Fijiana opened its campaign in the Los Angeles 7s with a 12-5 loss to Brazil today.

Brazil’s Bianca Silva opened the scoring with great individual try from a tackle break, leading the first half with a 7-0 scoreline.

The intensity continued into the second half, with Thalita Da Silva Costa further extending Brazil’s lead by sprinting past the Fijian defense line to score an unconverted try.

Fijiana came back with a late try from Nadi youngster Meredani Qoro in the last minute, however it wasn’t enough to secure a victory against the determined Brazilian side.

Fijiana will play South Africa in their next Pool B match at 8.26am tomorrow.
